Annual Mercantile Athletics Championships
The premier event in Sri Lanka's corporate athletics calendar. Held annually since 1982, the Mercantile Athletics Championship brings together hundreds of athletes from over 50 member firms for two days of intense track and field competition. Events span all standard athletics disciplines across open and masters (veterans) age categories. The championship is the heartbeat of MAF and celebrates the athleticism of Sri Lanka's mercantile community.
MAF Road Race
Launched in 2012, the MAF Road Race has become one of the most celebrated events in Sri Lanka's corporate athletics calendar. The race takes participants along the stunning southern coastal road from Moratuwa to Mount Lavinia, offering a scenic challenge for runners of all abilities. Open and masters categories ensure everyone from recreational joggers to seasoned runners can participate and compete.
Masters (Veterans) Athletics Championships
Pioneered by MAF in 1985 — the first of its kind in Sri Lanka — Masters Athletics gives experienced athletes the opportunity to continue competing in age-group categories from 35 years upward. The Masters Championship runs as a component of the Annual Championships and as a standalone event, celebrating the enduring spirit of veteran athletes across Sri Lanka's mercantile sector.
SMTFA International Masters Championships
MAF proudly represents Sri Lanka at the South & South East Asian Masters Track & Field Association (SMTFA) International Masters Championships. Held across various Asian venues, the SMTFA Championships bring together masters athletes from across the region. MAF athletes have competed with distinction at these events over the decades, bringing home medals and recognition for Sri Lanka.
Mercantile Netball Championships
The Mercantile Netball Championships extend MAF's sporting umbrella beyond athletics to embrace team sport, creating valuable opportunities for women and mixed-gender teams from Sri Lanka's corporate sector. The competition fosters teamwork, strategy, and corporate bonding while promoting physical fitness among a wider demographic.
