Mercantile Athletic Federation of Sri Lanka (MAF) conducted another CSR Project named "Be with Our Hero's" by donating Essential Items to protect National Athletes from Covid 19, handing over the donations to Hon. Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr. Namal Rajapaksha.

With the guidance and the collaboration of Dr. Lal Ekanayake, Director General of Sports Medicine Institute, Mercantile Athletic Federation donated 100 pax for the members of National Pool, Elite Pool and National Pera Athletic Pool.

Few Senior Athletes participated for the occasion representing National Athletic Pool and National Para Athletic Pool.

Mr. Prasanna Indika (President), Mr. Sydney Ratnayake (Advisor), Mr. Basil Silva (Snr. Vice President & Treasurer), Mr. Mahesh Gunaratne (Vice President), Mr. Amila Wijekoon (Asst. Secretary) participated for the occasion representing Mercantile Athletic Federation of Sri Lanka.

MAS Holdings (PVT) LTD (691 points) has crowned as CHAMPIONS once again at the 35th SLT Mercantile Athletic Championship – 2018 which was held on 18th & 19th August 2018 at Sugathadasa Stadium by maintaining a massive lead of 401 points.

There was a huge battle for the 2nd place in between Sri Lanka Telecom and Sampath Bank PLC as both teams have fully packed with many talented athletes. Finally, Sri Lanka Telecom (290 points) has won the 2nd place (Runners Up) and Sampath Bank PLC (202 points) ended at 3rd place.

All other teams such as Sri Lankan Airlines, Airport & Aviation Service (SL) LTD, Colombo Dockyard PLC, David Pieris Motor Company LTD, Commercial Credit & Finance PLC, Nations Trust Bank PLC, Citizens Development Bank PLC and National Development Bank PLC showed their experiences competing with 58 member companies and one international team.

The Mercantile Athletic Federation (MAF) athletic team showed spot-on talents & won 116 medals including 46 Gold, 36 Silver & 34 Bronze in the recently ended 38th National Masters Athletic Championship, held from 12th to 15th April 2018 at Mangala Stadium (Synthetic Track), Urva, Mangalore, India.

The MAF athletic team consisted of 49 members including talented athletes & experienced officials from institutions such as Sampath Bank, David Pieris Group of Companies, Ceylon Biscuits Limited, The Finance Company PLC, Ceylon Fertilizer Co., Citizens Development Business PLC, Commercial Credit & Finance PLC, People's Leasing & Finance PLC, HSBC Bank, Hatton National Bank, Nations Trust Bank PLC & VEE Power Solutions.

The MAF Technical Meeting is scheduled to be held on 17th October 2017 at 6.00 PM at the Otters Aquatic Club, Colombo 07.

The MAF committee has invited all member companies to participate for this technical meeting. The main objective of this meeting is to convey necessary and important information relating to the 34th Mercantile Annual Athletic Championship 2017 to all member companies who are willing to participate in the above athletic meet.

The MAF Press Conference to make aware of the upcoming 34th Mercantile Annual Athletic Championship is scheduled to be held on 16th October 2017 at 6.00 PM at the Football House Auditorium, Colombo 07.

Many well reputed & well-known brand names and companies are willing to participate for this press conference as valuable sponsors. The event will be covered by more than 40 major print & electronic media representatives in Sri Lanka.

One of the most anticipated athletic events of the mercantile calendar, the 34th Mercantile Annual Athletic Championship is scheduled to be held on 20th, 21st and 22nd October 2017 at Mahinda Rajapaksha Sports Complex, Diyagama.

Many prominent parties are waiting to witness this great and exciting event. Approximately 2,000 young and experienced local & international athletes are getting ready to compete for their pride among more than 60 well reputed mercantile sector companies and banks.

There will be many competitive track and field events for both men and women athletes under seven main categories.

Once again MAF athletic team showed brilliant performances at the recently ended "1st National Masters Open Track & Field Meet 2016" which was held from 26th to 27th November 2016 in India.

40 athletes participated in the meet and they managed to win a mammoth 104 medals including 47 Gold, 29 Silver & 28 Bronze medals, competing against more than 800 Indian athletes.

According to MAF history, this was the first time that a MAF athletic team could win such a large number of medals in an international meet.

The MAF press conference was held on 13th July 2016 at Otter Aquatic Club, Colombo-07 to inform details relating to the 33rd Mercantile Annual Athletic Meet which is scheduled to be held on 19th, 20th & 21st of August 2016. More than 40 major print & electronic media representatives attended.

MAF officials with high experience & capacity are expecting more than 2,000 local & international athletes. MAF officials are expecting more international athletes from India, and some more athletes from Singapore & Malaysia for this year's meet.

For the first time in history, the Awards Ceremony of Mercantile Athletic Federation was held at HNB Towers in Colombo 10 on 27th May 2016, with the participation of more than 120 persons including invitees, athletes, sponsors & MAF committee members.

Olympic medalist Mrs. Susanthika Jayasinghe was the chief guest at this milestone occasion.

45 best athletes who won 3 gold medals & 2 gold medals respectively at the 32nd Mercantile Annual Athletic Meet 2015 were nominated for MAF awards. In addition, valuable sponsors, seniors & present committee members of MAF were also recognised to value their tremendous & immeasurable contribution towards the success of MAF over many years.

New office bearers of Mercantile Athletic Federation (MAF) for the year 2016 were elected during the Annual General Meeting held on 26th November 2015 at Otter Aquatic Club, Colombo-07, with the presence of officials of Athletic Association of Sri Lanka (AASL).

Representatives from more than 50 reputed mercantile sector companies & banks participated, and 20 MAF office bearers were elected through their votes with the guidance of AASL officials.
